Our school orchestra changes from year to year and draws on the skills of the students in year 7 and 8. Mr Craig Humpries works hard to blend all the different instruments that students can play and turns them into a great sounding group. They get to play on a number of occasions and they work really hard to learn all the songs for production each year. So if your interested bring along your musical skills and get stuck into our school orchestra.

The Mt Roskill Intermediate School Choir are at present rehearsing for the A.P.P.A Music Festival thats coming up in term 4. They will be performing in the Auckland Town hall. This requires many practices, rehearsals with other schools, time and commitment. Mrs Clow works hard to take the rehearsals and turn a large group of singers into a unified sound. We look forward to hearing the choir sing at our end of year awards and graduation assemblies.

Hey!!!! Welcome to the Performing arts web page.
In performing arts at MRIS we look at developing our confidence to create ideas, take risks, and perform in front of others. We learn different things about Music, Drama and a little bit of Dance/movement. Its all about stepping out of your comfort zone giving things a go and sharing your ideas with others.

This year we have started up a year 8 band. Students who could play the drums, bass, guitar etc auditioned to make their spot in the group. We rehearse as often as possible and the band has performed at and led a number of music assemblies this year. They are all very talented students and when someone comes up with an idea for a song we have worked together to figure it out and make it sound great. The band is performing at the Mt Roskill Campus Concert on the 11th of August, so we look forward to that
